The Indian women's hockey team lost 2-3 against China in their final round-robin match of the Asian Champions Trophy in Singapore on Friday. However, by virtue of finishing second in the round-robin stage due to their superior goal difference over third-placed Japan, India qualified for the final on Saturday where they will face China again.

The first half was a dull affair with both teams failing to net a goal. But, after the second half began, China scored the first goal through Chen Yang in the 35th minute. China doubled their lead in the 51st minute with Guo Qiu making it 2-0.

However, India immediately scored back-to-back goals with Poonam Rani and Vandana Katariya netting one goal apiece within a span of four minutes. However, China scored two minutes before the final whistle with Ou Zixia scoring their winning goal.

Result: India 2 (Poonam Rani, Vandana Katariya) lost to China 3 (Chen Yang, Guo Qiu, Ou Zixia)
