England's pace spearhead James Anderson has passed rigorous fitness examinations and will fly to India on Monday to be a part of the five-match Test series against India. The 34-year-old was ruled out of the first Test in Rajkot but is now in the running to play the second Test match, which will be held in Visakhapatnam.
Anderson has struggled with injuries in the recent past and missed out on England's recent tour of Bangladesh. England's highest wicket-taker was initially told by the selectors that he would have to play for the Lions against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates in December to prove his fitness, reported The Daily Mail. It would have meant that Anderson would have to at least miss out on the first two Test matches.
Anderson was given the all-clear on Friday after proving his fitness in front of England and Wales Cricket board physio Ben Langley and bowling coach Kevin Shrine.
