India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out for at least six weeks after sustaining a hairline fracture on his right shoulder, the Board of Control for Cricket in India informed through a press release on Tuesday.
Pandya was struck on the shoulder in the nets ahead of the third Test in Mohali. He was subsequently released from the Test squad.
It is still not clear if Pandya will be available for the One-Day International series against England starting from January 15. The BCCI is yet to name a replacement.
Pandya was picked for the Test side for the first time in his career.
