The big story: Barcelona pay for missed opportunities at Camp Nou
Real Madrid came out second best in the second half after Luis Suarez put Barcelona in the lead. Neymar, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi missed excellent chances to double their side’s advantage.
The visitors made Barca pay for their travails in front of goal with an equaliser one minute from full-time by Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos. Both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo had an underwhelming Claasico by their standards, and the first half made for dire viewing. The draw stretched Zinedine Zidane’s unbeaten record as a manager to 34 points. Madrid are also unbeaten in the league after 14 games and have a six-point lead against second-placed Barca.
