One of India’s most aggressive Indian openers Shikhar Dhawan turns 31 on Monday. Shikhar Dhawan has been around for more than a decade and is a well-known name in the world of cricket.

The Delhi boy made headlines when he amassed 505 runs in the Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh in 2004 to be awarded the player of the tournament. An explosive batsman, Dhawan is strong of his pads and likes to go after the opposition from the first ball itself.

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma have formed a successful opening combination in One-Day International cricket and have been the platform under which Indian cricket has thrived in recent memory, especially the 2015 World Cup. Dhawan started off his Test career by scoring the fastest century by a Test debutant off just 85 balls against the Australians in March 2013. He slammed 187, breaking the record held by Gundappa Viswanath.
