In some respite for the Board of Control for Cricket in India, the Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed the cricket body to spend Rs 1.33 crore for the remaining two matches of the India-England Test series.

The court, however, has been reported to have asked the Board to submit an affidavit on the revenue collections from all Test matches in the series. The BCCI were also permitted to spend an amount of Rs 25 lakh for each One-Day International and Twenty20 International of the ongoing series against England.

The court had previously made available funds to the tune of Rs 58.66 lakh ahead of the first Test on November 9 in Rajkot.

The apex court had stated that payments be made directly to the contracted vendors and not the state associations.
