The past week has seen some enthralling football in the Premier League with Arsenal beating Stoke City 3-1 on Saturday to take the top spot and Leicester City finally finding their groove to beat Manchester City 4-2 in an inspiring performance.
However, on Sunday, Chelsea stamped their authority yet again, winning their ninth game on the trot and Manchester United too getting the better of Tottenham.
Costa to the rescue
Diego Costa scored a decisive 76th minute winner to help Chelsea win their ninth successive league win. With the win, the Blues moved three points clear of Arsenal on top of the Premier League table. It also happened to be Costa’s 12th goal of the season.
United’s Armenian star
Midfielder Henrik Mkhitaryan scored his first Premier League goal to help Manchester United beat Tottenham 1-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday. The win helped United move to 24 points, just three short of Tottenham who sit in fifth place with 27 points.
Liverpool stutter
Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by West Ham United. Goals by Dimitri Payet and Michail Antonio exposed Liverpool’s fragile defence. Adam Lallana and Divock Origi scored for Liverpool, who are still third on the table.
