Five-time world champion Viswanathan Anand went down to United States’ Hikaru Nakamura in the third round of London Chess Classic on Monday, PTI reported.
The loss means Anand has now slipped to 50 per cent score. With six rounds left, Anand, Nakamura and Anish Giri of Holland share the fifth spot on 1.5 points.
American Wesley So is in the lead with 2.5 points, while Armenia’s Levon Aronian, Russian Vladimir Kramnik and Fabiano Caruana of United States share the second spot on two points each.
