Tigres and Club America played out a classic final of the Mexican Liga MX on Sunday, which saw a lot of drama, a huge brawl, a late equaliser and a penalty shoot-out to cap it all off.

A goal from Tigres midfielder Jesus Duenas deep into extra time sent the Liga MX final into penalties, where Tigres won 3-0 after a 2-2 tie on aggregate to clinch the title.

Club America had scored five minutes into extra-time after a goal-less 90 minutes. The brawl broke out near the completion of the first half of extra-time. Players from both sides clashed on the field. A melee ensued, halting play for a good ten minutes. Four players saw red.

The altercation, though, seemed to have tilted the game in Tigres’ favour who netted late and leveled the score at 1-1.

With momentum on their side, Tigres converted the first three penalties, while goalkeeper Nahuel Guzman pulled off three brilliant stops to hand his side a dramatic victory.
