India’s Aditi Ashok endured a torrid start in the first round of the Women’s Australian Open on Thursday, finishing at one-over 74 which included dropping three bogeys in a row in the last four holes, PTI reported.

Aditi was struggling in the 81st place and would now need a much improved display on Friday to progress into the final round. Starting from 10th, the 18-year-old began with a number of four pars but dropped a shot on fifth.

Aditi bagged back to back birdies on the 16th and 17th, and the second to move to two-under. Her slide came from three bogeys between sixth to eighth. Australia’s Katherine Kirk currently leads by two shots from USA’s Jane Park and Marissa Steen as well as Taiwan’s Min Lee and Chella Choi South Korea’s at six-under.

Kirk scored eight birdies and did not make a single bogey. World No.1 Lydia Ko scored 71 at T-25 while World No.2 Ariya Jutanugam 72 at T-41st.
