A late goal by Balwant Singh saw Mohun Bagan secure a thrilling 2-2 draw against Mumbai FC in an I-League clash at Kolkata’s Rabindra Sarobar Stadium on Wednesday.
Balwant headed in through a cross from Sony Norde in the 89th minute to help Mohun Bagan earn one point. Earlier, Bagan had taken the lead through Pritam Kotal in the 12th minute.
Mumbai though had wrested control of the game with two goals in the span of two minutes. Thoi Singh scored the equaliser in the 20th minute before Victorino Fernandes gave them the lead in the 22nd minute.
The visitors looked like they would hold onto the lead, but were denied three points as Balwant and Norde combined.
The draw stretched Mumbai’s winless run to 11 games. Bagan remain third in the table.
