Force India will be adding a bright dash of colour to the Formula 1 racing tracks this season, after changing the car’s colour scheme to a striking pink and silver.
The change in livery come after the team signed a sponsorship deal with Austrian water technology company Best Water Technology Group. The new pink, magenta and silver car will debut at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne later this month.
“The arrival of BWT in Formula One is huge news and represents one of the most significant partnerships in our ten year history,” Vijay Mallya, Team Principal and Managing Director of Sahara Force India, said. “Changing the colour of our cars is an indication of the strength of this new partnership and a real statement of intent from BWT.”
Force India had launched their Mercedes-powered VJM10 in the old black-and-silver colours during the tests in Barcelona, but the Melbourne Grand Prix will see the new colours .
The VJM10 cars will not only bear the logo of BWT along with the pink hue, but the partnership will be represented by the drivers as well, with Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon featuring pink on their helmets. France’s Ocon drew a very interesting analogy on Twitter, comparing the new Force India design to the cartoon Pink Panther.
And here’s how Mercedes welcomed Force India’s new stripes on Twitter.
We can’t wait to see how the pink-and-magenta look on track come the last weekend of March.
