Kashiling Adake picked up 17 raid points as U Mumba beat Bengaluru Bulls 42-30 in an Inter Zone Challenge Week match Pro Kabaddi Season at New Delhi. Adake scored 15 points in the first half as the Bulls never recovered after losing pace early in the game, PTI reported.
For U Mumba, Surinder Singh scored six tackle points in the defence. Bulls’ captain Rohit Kumar scored 12 points but was let down by his fellow raiders. It was the 11th defeat for Bulls, who have had a campaign to forget. The former champions, with the win, now lie third in Zone A with 49 points from 17 matches and are in with a shot to qualify for the super play-offs.
Bulls are fifth in Zone B after picking up just 34 points from 17 matches. Adake’s onslaught started with a super raid in the 11th minute. With five minutes to go in the first half, U Mumba inflicted an all-out to extend their lead at 16-7. Bulls were having trouble containing Adake and their defence scored just three points in the entire half. Rohit Kumar had six points for Bulls, who went into the break trailing at 13-23.
U Mumba began the second half in a dominating fashion as they inflicted a second all-out to lead 29-17. U Mumba did not have to get out of second gear for in the second half as Bengaluru Bulls never looked like winning the match. Surinder Singh attained a high five in the 39th minute as U Mumba cruised to a comfortable 42-30 victory.
Another day, another home defeat for hapless Delhi
Telugu Titans continued their recovery as they notched an impressive 44-22 victory as they thrashed Dabang Dehi. It was Delhi’s eighth consecutive defeat and the 13th defeat of a disappointing campaign. Titans’ talisman Rahul Chaudhari was in inspired form, picking up 16 points. Abolfazl waged a lone fight for Delhi, picking up seven points.
Delhi are bottom of the table in Zone A with 31 points from 18 matches. Yet again, star raider Meraj Sheykh did little to affect proceedings while Chaudhari and Nilesh Salunke were picking up points with ease, giving their side a eight-point lead at the break. The Titans piled on the misery on Delhi, and inflicted their second all-out of the game in the 38th minute. The onslaught ceased to stop as Delhi were all-out for a third time minutes before the end of the contest.
