Mumbai’s Jemimah Rodrigues smashed a double century against Saurashtra in the ongoing women’s Under-19 One Day league on Sunday. This was her second hundred in three matches.

The Mumbai captain scored an unbeaten 202 runs in only 163 balls in the West Zone match at Aurangabad against Saurashtra. The 17-year-old’s blistering ton has 21 fours and no sixes. Her innings, at a strike rate of almost 124, powered Mumbai to 347/2 in the their 50 overs and included a partnership of 300 for the second wicket. Saurashtra are still batting.

Rodrigues is only the second Indian cricketer to hit a double century in the Women’s U19 One-Day competition. The first was Indian international opener Smriti Mandhana, who had scored an unbeaten 224. The left-hander had smashed he record score off 150 balls while playing for Maharashtra against Gujarat.

Rodrigues had notched another big hundred in Mumbai’s first match in the tournament, scoring 178 of off 142 balls in Mumbai’s 323/3 against Gujarat. In fact, the teen is not new to scoring big knocks with an average of 376 in last year’s Under-19 edition.
