Pulling down curtains on a legendary nine-year reign at Real Madrid, five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo will move to Italian giants Juventus in a deal that is worth €100 million, the 13-time European champions announced on Wednesday.
During his reign at the club, Real Madrid won four Champions League titles, two Copa Del Rey titles along with a pair of Spanish La Liga trophies. The report stated that the Ronaldo and his agent, Jorge Mendes, had a meeting with Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli in Greece on Wednesday to finalise the deal.
Ronaldo will exit Santiago Bernabeau as the Los Blancos’s highest goalscorer. Ronaldo had an incredible strike rate for Real, smashing 450 goals in just 438 games. The former Manchester United forward won four of his five Ballon d’Ors with Real.
After lifting his fifth Champions League title at Kiev in May, Ronaldo hinted at exiting Real, leaving way to widespread speculation. A stunning return to Old Trafford was also listed as a possibility. He was in red-hot form for his national team, scoring four goals before Uruguay knocked Portugal out at the round of 16 stage. Juventus have won each of the last seven Serie A titles.
