The 2019 ICC World Cup in England and Wales was billed as the World Cup of the batsmen. While some made wild predictions of the tournament seeing a score of 500 in an innings, several believed multiple 400 plus scores were on the cards.
Not all has gone according to plan for the batsmen so far, but there has been no shortage of top-class batting on display. It’s not been brute power that’s dominated, forcing the deadliest batsmen to tweak their approach and show more craft.
