One killed, one injured in Jammu and Kashmir avalanche
The police have not been able to find the body and fear it has fallen to the other side of the LoC.
An army porter was killed and his son injured after they got caught in an avalanche in the town of Chakwali in Gurez, a high Himalayan valley in Jammu and Kashmir. The man worked with the army’s 16 Dogra regiment. He has been identified as Ghulam Qadir Khan and was between 40 and 50 years old, Rising Kashmir reported. His 12-year-old son Farooq Ahmed Khan has sustained injuries.
The police said the body is yet to be recovered as they fear it fell to the other side of the Line of Control. The upper reaches of Chakwali, one of the many towns and villages located near the LoC, recently received four-six feet of snow.
