Underworld gangster Chhota Rajan on Tuesday told reporters in Bali that some Mumbai police officials have links to Dawood Ibrahim. Rajan said that Mumbai police have treated him very badly and that all cases registered against him are false. He had earlier said that he would continue to fight against terrorism and Dawood Ibrahim, his former aide and head of crime syndicate D-company.

Rajan’s statement comes hours after The Times of India reported that Delhi police would be involved in the don’s extradition, and that the Centre is not comfortable letting the Mumbai police handle the case. He was arrested in Bali on October 25. Reports said he is likely to be deported to India late on Tuesday. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said Rajan will be returning to Mumbai.
