Cargo plane crash in South Sudan kills at least 41
The plane crashed on the banks of the White Nile river soon after taking off.
At least 41 people were killed on Wednesday when a cargo plane crashed after taking off from South Sudan's Juba airport, reported Reuters. The casualties included passengers on board and people on the ground. A presidential spokesperson said that a sole crew member and a child on board survived the accident.
The plane crashed on the banks of the White Nile river soon after taking off. The total number of people on board is yet to be confirmed, with the toll is also likely to rise. Earlier, South Sudanese media had reported the plane was carrying five Russian crew and seven passengers.
