Five days after a Pawan Hans helicopter crashed in the Arabian Sea, the body of one of the pilots, along with some wreckage, was recovered along the Mumbai coast. Pilots Captain E Samuel and TK Guha were on board the 2001 Dauphin aircraft when it took off from the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation installation on November 4.

The ONGC uses Pawan Hans helicopters to transport its officials from Mumbai to offshore oilfields. The Navy and Coast Guard reportedly faced difficulty in search and rescue operations because of poor visibility. Officials have not reported which pilot’s body was recovered.

The Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard have both formed rescue teams to look for the pilots. They found some debris from the chopper on Thursday morning, India Today reported. The helicopter had sent out a distress signal to maritime officials seconds before crashing about two nautical miles away from the SHQ oil platform in Bombay High, one of ONGC's offshore oil fields, The Indian Express reported.
