Air France flight diverted to Kenyan airport after bomb scare
Pilots requested an emergency landing in the coastal city of Mombasa saying an explosive device was supposedly found in the plane’s toilet.
An Air France flight from Mauritius to Paris made an emergency landing in Mombasa, Kenya, on Sunday after officials said they found an explosive device in its toilet. Police spokesperson Charles Owino told Associated Press that they requested the landing at 12.37 am.
The plane was carrying 459 passengers and 14 crew members. It had left Mauritius at 9 pm. The passengers were evacuated safely, Owino said, and the device was taken out and being examined by experts.
