Crocodiles, piranhas, tigers may guard Indonesia prison
The suggestion was made after the government decided to temporarily stop executing prisoners on death row.
Indonesia's anti-narcotics board has proposed to build a prison surrounded by moats filled with crocodiles and piranhas, and land populated by tigers, the BBC reported. The suggestion comes after the country finally bowed to international pressure in November and temporarily halted the execution of prisoners on death row. However, the government had earlier dismissed such proposals as a joke.
The country has been criticised by both human rights agencies and governments of many countries for sentencing and executing those convicted for narcotics crimes. The country follows a no-tolerance policy towards the distribution of drugs.
