DDCA row: BJP demands public apology from Arvind Kejriwal for defaming Arun Jaitley
The Delhi government's inquiry report on the cricket body's affairs does not mention the finance minister in any capacity.
The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday demanded a public apology from Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for defaming finance minister Arun Jaitley. This was hours after the Delhi government released its inquiry report on the corruption allegations against the Delhi & District Cricket Association.
The 237-page inquiry report does not mention the finance minister in any capacity, even though Kejriwal had accused him of being involved in financial malpractices during his term as the DDCA president. The report also advises the Board of Control for Cricket in India to immediately suspend the DDCA, given the large number of allegations against it.
Jaitley has filed both civil and criminal defamation suits against Kejriwal and five other Aam Aadmi Party members.
