Kerala beedi tycoon Mohammed Nisham convicted for life, fined Rs 71 lakh
He was sentenced by a state court after he rammed his Hummer into security guard Chandra Bose for being too slow in opening a gate.

A Kerala court on Thursday sentenced beedi tycoon Mohammed Nisham to life imprisonment and fined him Rs 71 lakh for the murder of security guard Chandra Bose. He was convicted on Wednesday for ramming his Hummer into Bose for not opening the gate to his apartment complex fast enough, and then beating him with an iron rod. The 50-year-old succumbed to his injuries a month after the incident.
The 39-year-old was arrested for the crime in January 2015. The Supreme Court had given the Thrissur district additional sessions court a January 31 deadline to come to a decision on the case.
