Mumbai and Delhi have been named among cities in the Asia-Pacific region that are home to the largest number of high net-worth individuals. In the Asia-Pacific 2016 Wealth Report released by New World Wealth, Tokyo topped the list with 2,64,000 millionaires, while Mumbai ranked 12th with 41,200 and Delhi came in at 20th, PTI reported.

Mumbai and Delhi were also listed among the top five cities recording the fastest growth. While Mumbai saw a 357% growth, Delhi registered a 335% growth between 2000 and 2015. Jakarta was ranked first, followed by Hangzhou and Tianjin. The two cities are expected to be among the top three in terms of financial growth by 2025.

Among cities with the most number of multi-millionaires – those with net assets worth $10 million or more – Mumbai was ranked eighth with 2,690 people, while Delhi came in 14th with 1,340 such individuals. Hong Kong topped the list with 9,650.

In addition, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune and Ahmedabad were featured among emerging cities in the Asia-Pacific region. India has the fourth-largest population of millionaires in this region, with 2.36 lakh such high net-worth individuals.
