A day after ban, 14-year-old killed in celebratory firing in Uttar Pradesh
The practice was prohibited recently in the state's Shamli district after an eight-year-old was killed by a stray bullet by Samajwadi Party workers celebrating poll results.
A 14-year-old boy was killed on Sunday in celebratory firing during a marriage function in Uttar Pradesh's Binauli area, reported PTI. Fukran was attending the event when a stray bullet hit him in Bijwada village. Police are looking for the people responsible for the firing. An FIR has been registered against five people.
Earlier this month, an eight-year-old boy was killed in a celebratory firing by Samajwadi Party workers in the state's Shamli district. The eight-year-old, identified as Sami, was travelling in an autorickshaw when he was hit by a stray bullet. Following the incident, two SP workers were arrested and celebratory firing was banned in the district.
