Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra has signed on to play the female lead in the upcoming Baywatch movie. According to Entertainment Weekly, Chopra, who has seen international success as the protagonist on ABC's Quantico, will play a villain named Victoria Leeds. The film stars Zac Effron and Dwayne Johnson along with Alexandra Daddario, Ilfenesh Hadera, and Kelly Rohrbach.

Johnson welcomed Chopra on to the team with a gushing Instagram post on Tuesday:

Last month, it was reported that Chopra was in talks to play the role. Johnson's post confirmed that she had been signed on. The film version of the '90s television show has been written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, and will be directed by Seth Gordon, and filming will begin next week.
