US should not kick out Indian students after graduation, says Donald Trump
Clarifying his stand on immigration policies, the Republican presidential front-runner said America needs smart people.
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump has said that Indian students studying in American educational institutions should not be "kicked out" after graduation, reported PTI. "Whether we like that or not,...but we educate a lot of people, very smart people. We need those people in the country," the billionaire businessman told Fox News in an interview. "Many people want to stay in this country and then want to do that. I think somebody that goes through years of college in this country, we shouldn't kick them out the day they graduate, which we do," he added.
This comes weeks after Trump said India is one of the countries that he believes is taking jobs away from Americans. He has been advocating the scrapping of the H-1B work visa programme that is widely used by Indian IT companies, saying he thinks it is "very unfair" for American workers. Trump has been widely accused of having an "all or nothing" stance when it comes to immigrants. There are approximately 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States.
