A day after two explosions rocked Brussels and left 35 people dead, the Indian embassy said it was still trying to make contact with an Indian employee of I-T firm Infosys who was in the Belgian city. Raghavendra Ganeshan, from Bengaluru, reportedly spoke to his mother an hour before the blasts. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj also tweeted that attempts were being made to find Ganesh. The News Minute reported that Ganesh has been in Brussels for four years and that his name was not on any casualty lists following the attacks. Belgian broadcaster RTBF identified two suicide bombers responsible for the attacks, Khalid and Brahim Bakraoui, from CCTV footage, while police are hunting for a third suspect. Belgian prosecutors also said they found a nail bomb and an Islamic State flag in the city during their search, reported IBN. The militant group claimed responsibility for the suicide bomb attacks on Tuesday – two explosions took place at Brussels airport and another near a rush-hour metro train in the Belgian capital.
According to Telegraph, local police released the CCTV footage of three men pushing a laden luggage trolley at Zaventem airport, out of which two men, investigators said, later blew themselves up in the terminal. A government official said the third person was seen running away from the airport building. Investigators launched a massive manhunt for this person, whose bomb failed to go off and was recovered from the airport later.
Authorities have still not confirmed if the attack was linked to the arrest of Paris attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam. He was arrested from the city on March 19.
