AIADMK to contest 227 seats in Tamil Nadu elections
The party’s alliance partners will get to contest from seven constituencies for the 234-member Assembly.
The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam on Monday released a list of its candidates for the upcoming elections in Tamil Nadu, ANI reported. Incumbent Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa will be standing from RK Nagar, in the state capital Chennai. Reports have said that the AIADMK will contest from 227 seats, while its alliance partners will stand from the remaining seven constituencies. The party will also contest from 30 seats in Puducherry and seven in Kerala.
The ruling party’s main opposition, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, had earlier announced it will tie-up with the Congress for the upcoming election. On Monday, the Congress and DMK finalised their seat-sharing talks.
