Eight labourers injured in Lucknow metro construction accident
District magistrate Raj Shekhar said no one was trapped in the debris, nor has anyone died in the incident.
As many as eight labourers were injured in Lucknow on Sunday when a temporary supportive structure, known as the shuttering, between two under-construction pillars of the metro line collapsed, reported PTI. The accident occurred in the Alambaugh area while the workers were filling the shuttering up with concrete to reinforce the portion between the pillars.
District Magistrate Raj Shekhar said eight workers were present at the spot when the structure collapsed, and they were immediately taken to hospital. He added that no one was trapped in the debris, nor has anyone died in the incident. Shekhar said an inquiry will be ordered to look into the cause of the mishap. The incident led to disruption in traffic. Vehicles have been diverted from the area.
