Nirankari mission leader Baba Hardev Singh dies in car accident in Canada
The head of the spiritual organisation was in Montreal for meetings and ahead of an international event scheduled to be held in June.

Spiritual head of the Sant Nirankari Mission, Baba Hardev Singh, died in a car accident in Montreal on Friday. The mission is a spiritual organisation based in India that was begun in 1929 and now has millions of followers. The 62-year-old has headed the group since 1980.
Singh’s death has been condoled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and several other leaders.
Singh was in Canada for several spiritual meetings and before the organisation’s second Nirankari International Samagham, India Today reported. The event was scheduled to be held next month. The group now has more than 100 centres across the world, with its headquarters in Delhi.
