Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has won the prestigious Premier League Player of the Season award for 2015-16. The 29-year-old helped his team secure their maiden Premier League title with 24 goals this season. This included scoring in 11 consecutive games to set a league record.
"It is an amazing feeling to have my name on the trophy with the names of legends who have won it in the past. It is an absolute honour," Vardy said, as reported by the Leicester Mercury. Vardy has previously been named the Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers' Association.
