French Open: Leander Paes and Sania Mirza win their Mixed Doubles first round matches
Paes partnered with Switzerland's Martina Hingis, while Mirza is playing with Croatia's Ivan Dodig.
The Indo-Swiss pair of Leander Paes and Martina Hingis progressed to the second round of the ongoing French Open, defeating the German-Colombian pair of Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Robert Farah in Paris on Thursday. Hingis and Paes will meet the fourth-seeded pair of Yaroslava Shvedova and Florin Mergea in their second round.
Sania Mirza and her partner in the mixed doubles category Ivan Dodig from Croatia were also not troubled in their first round match against Mathilde Johansson and Tristan Lamasine, winning 6-4 6-3.
However, there was no such luck for India's Purav Raja, who crashed out of the tournament after he and his partner went down 1-6 2-6 to the ninth-seeded pair of Lukasz Kubot and Alexander Peya in the men's doubles category.
