Mark Zuckerberg's Twitter, Pinterest accounts hacked, allegedly through the LinkedIn password dump
A group called OurMine Team claimed responsibility for the hacking.
Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg's Twitter and Pinterest accounts were allegedly hacked over the weekend. A group called OurMine Team claimed responsibility, saying they did this by using the LinkedIn password dump that was announced in May.
LinkedIn faced a password breach issue in 2012 after which data, including the email and hashed passwords, of more than 100 million users were released. Last month, the social media network for professionals invalidated the accounts.
It is being speculated that the leaked data included the ID and password of Zuckerberg's LinkedIn account and that he used the same for his other accounts as well.
The OurMine Team also claimed to have gained access to Zuckerberg's Instagram account. However, Facebook later confirmed that the CEO's Instagram account was safe.
