Indian sprinter Mohammad Anas qualified for the Olympics on Saturday after clocking a time of 45.40 seconds in the 400 metre sprint at the Polish Athletics Championships at Bydgoszcz. Anas becomes the 100th Indian athlete to qualify for the upcoming Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

The 21-year-old also set a new national record in the men's 400 m category, bettering the 45.44 seconds record he had set earlier. He had previously won silver at the Federation Cup National Athletics Championships in New Delhi.

Anas' qualification makes this the largest Indian contingent to ever go to the Games.
