Ajinkya Rahane scored his seventh Test century on Monday as India put on 500/9 on the board against the West Indies before declaring 40 minutes before tea. This meant that India had a lead of 304 over the hosts, who were bowled out for 196 earlier in the match. Even as the entire final session of Day 3 was washed out and the threat of tropical storm Earl still looms over Jamaica, India have plenty of time of bowl the West Indies out again.

The hosts have not had much to celebrate throughout this series so far, so Roston Chase's five-wicket haul would have brought a few smiles. However, the West Indies can only hope that this match is washed out, as any other result apart from an India win seems improbable if there is no stoppage in play. Day 4 will begin 30 minutes earlier to make up for the lost time on Day 3, but chances of more showers are high.
