Olympics: Shiva Thapa loses to Cuba's Robeisy Ramirez in first round of men's Bantamweight boxing
The World No. 3 had also lost in the first round at the 2012 Games in London.
Twenty-two-year old Shiva Thapa lost by a unanimous decision of 0-3 on points to Cuba's Robeisy Ramirez in the round of 32 of the men's Bantamweight boxing competition at the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Thapa was scored 25, 27 and 27 by the three judges who scored Ramirez a perfect 30-30-30 in the three rounds.
Ramirez, the World No. 6 and defending flyweight gold medallist, showed superior technique and had inflicted a cut wound above Thapa's eye en route to the win. Ramirez had stepped up a weight class from flyweight (above 52 kg) to bantamweight (above 56 kg) since the London 2012 Olympics.
