Hiranandani kidney racket: Mumbai court sends five doctors to judicial custody till August 26
The accused include the hospital's CEO, Dr Sujith Chatterjee.
The five LH Hiranandani Hospital doctors who were arrested on Tuesday evening for their alleged involvement in a kidney racket on August 9 was sent to judicial custody till August 26, reported ANI. The CEO of LH Hiranandani Hospital, Dr Sujith Chatterjee, is one of the accused in the kidney racket case. The doctors' direct role in the racket in still under investigation.
The other doctors involved in the case include the hospital’s medical director, Dr Anurag Naik, urologist Dr Mukesh Shah, nephrologist Dr Mukesh Shete and junior surgeon Dr Prakash Shetty. The Mumbai police and Maharashtra’s health department said they had also identified two other kidney sale cases involving the Powai hospital, and are investigating those separately.
