Two committees under the commerce ministry will fast-track foreign trade policy-related grievances
The director general of foreign trade said the cells will be tasked with addressing cases pending beyond a reasonable time.
The Union Ministry of Commerce has set up two committees to facilitate the immediate redressal of Foreign Trade Policy-related trade and industry issues at the headquarters and zonal regional authority level, PTI reported on Friday. In its latest trade notice, the director general of foreign trade said the new cells will be tasked with addressing grievance cases "pending beyond reasonable time for speedy disposal, reviewing resolution of sector-specific grievances face by members or obtained from other sources and also to suggest reform in policy and procedure."
The ministry said the seven-member headquarter-level committee will meet once every quarter while its five-member zonal counterpart will meet on a monthly basis.
