The Pakistan government on Friday was criticised by its Opposition for not revealing details of the investigation into the January 2 attacks at the Pathankot airbase in Punjab. Pakistan People’s Party senator Farhatullah Babar criticised Sharif and his government for not responding to his query about the investigation, PTI reported. He was also reported to have accused the government of “misleading the Senate” and “deliberately concealing information”. According to the report, he also alleged that Sharif’s government was patronising terrorists.

Following his criticism, Sharif announced that details regarding the investigation will be made public. Babar said he had asked for the information more than four months ago. However, his accusations were opposed by Leader of the House Senator Raja Zafarul Haq. Haq said, “It is not appropriate to attack anyone’s intention.”

Bilateral ties between India and Pakistan have been affected by the investigation following the Pathankot attacks, and also by the ongoing unrest in Kashmir.
