Designate Pakistan state sponsor of terrorism, demands Indian-Americans' White House petition
The petition said the campaign was important to the people of the US, India and other countries that are continuously affected by Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.
The Indian Americans living in the United States have launched a petition to the White House urging the government to declare Pakistan a state sponsor of terrorism, reported PTI. The petition that started on Tuesday said, “This petition is important to the people of United States of America, India and many other countries which are continuously affected by Pakistan sponsored terrorism.”
This comes only days after a bill demanding the same was tabled in the US Congress by two lawmakers Congressman – Ted Poe and Congressman Dana Rohrabacher. The bill has been forwarded to House Foreign Affairs Committee, which will decide on the next course of action. Poe, who is also the chairman of the House Subcommittee on Terrorism, said, "It is time we stop paying Pakistan for its betrayal and designate it for what it is, a state sponsor of terrorism."
