People are discussing Army's surgical strikes like they used to talk about Israel: Narendra Modi
The prime minister said the nation had seen that the country's defence was 'no less than anybody'.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the recent surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army were being talked about in international circles like Israel’s exploits used to be discussed, NDTV reported. He said, “Our Army’s valour is being discussed across the country these days. We used to hear earlier that Israel has done this. The nation has seen that Indian Army is no less than anybody.”
The prime minister made the statement while addressing a public rally in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi. Modi praised the state and called it god’s land and martyrs' land. He also dedicated three power projects to the state. Among other things, Modi spoke about the One Rank One Pension scheme. He said his government has released its first instalment of Rs 5,500 crore towards the scheme for the country's veterans. He said, "One Rank One Pension was hanging for 40 years, and it is our government that completed the work. Soldiers and their families bless me."
