Filmmaker Michael Moore on Tuesday released a surprise documentary on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, titled Michael Moore in TrumpLand. The Oscar-winner and maker of Fahrenheit 9/11 and Bowling for Columbine is a vocal critic of the businessman’s. TrumpLand was screened for free in Manhattan on Tuesday, and will be released in theatres in Los Angeles and New York on Wednesday.

Moore said the film was initially planned to be a one-man show that was rejected by Midland Theatre in Newark, Ohio. He has called it his October Surprise (a news event deliberately timed to affect the outcome of an election).

TrumpLand’s official synopsis reads, “See the film Ohio Republicans tried to shut down. Oscar-winner Michael Moore dives right into hostile territory with his daring and hilarious one-man show, deep in the heart of TrumpLand in the weeks before the 2016 election.”

Donald Trump has recently been criticised for his remarks against women after a videotape of him boasting about groping women was leaked. He is also facing several allegations of sexual harassment, just weeks before the November 8 presidential election.
