UPSC civil services preliminary examination advanced to June 18
An official said the test, normally conducted in August, was brought forward to help complete the process within the time-frame.
The Union Public Service Commission has rescheduled its civil services preliminary examination from August to June 18 in 2017, PTI reported on Thursday. Officials said it has been three years since the commission rescheduled the examination, which is conducted to select officers for the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service and other services.
An official said, "The decision has been taken to ensure that the entire process of the examination is completed in time,” the news agency reported.
Thousands of students register every year to answer the examination, which is conducted in three phases – preliminary, main and interview.
