England finished day four of the second Test at Visakhapatnam at 87/2 chasing a target of 405 set by India, who were bundled out for 204 in their second innings. Skipper Virat Kohli (81) was brilliant with the bat yet again while wickets continued to tumble at the other end.

England openers Alastair Cook (54) and his partner Haseeb Hameed were in a defiant mood and frustrated the Indian bowlers, who toiled hard for wickets. Both batsmen were removed in the final hour of the day’s play.

England bowlers, led by pacer Stuart Broad (4/33), didn’t allow the Indian batsmen to settle down and took wickets at regular intervals. The visitors, in reply to the mammoth target, refused to buckle down to the Indian spin threat with Cook and Haseeb playing out 302 balls for their 75-run partnership before the latter was dismissed leg-before by Ravichandran Ashwin. Cook was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja off the final ball of the day.
