Jharkhand: Six Maoists killed by CRPF in an encounter in Latehar
Firearms were found at the spot where the gunbattle took place between the CoBRA battalion and the rebels.
Six suspected Maoists were gunned down in an encounter with the 209 Cobra Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force in Jharkhand’s Latehar district on Wednesday. Latehar is one of the most Maoist violence-affected regions of Jharkhand.
The encounter was reported around 9 am on Wednesday from the Karamdih-Chhipadohar jungles, PTI reported. “Six bodies of Naxals in uniform, an INSAS rifle, an SLR, a carbine and three other firearms have been recovered from the spot. Search operations are on,” officials said.
