Tamil Nadu: DMK chief M Karunanidhi discharged from Chennai hospital
A statement issued by the Kauvery Hospital said the former chief minister was stable and his condition has improved substantially.
Former Tamil Nadu chief minister and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief M Karunanidhi was discharged from hospital on Wednesday night. A statement issued by Kauvery Hospital in Chennai’s Alwarpet area said the 92-year-old DMK chief’s health had improved substantially after undergoing treatment.
“All his vital signs and biochemical parameters have normalised now. He has been advised rest,” read the statement. He was admitted to the hospital on December 1 for nutritional treatment and hydration. The news of his discharge is a relief for Tamil Nadu people who are still mourning the death of late chief minister J Jayalalithaa, who had died on Monday night.
