The Russian Defence Ministry on Monday said 16 people were injured after a Russian defence ministry aircraft IL-18 crashed in Siberia’s Bulun district on Monday. The official said local media reports that claimed the crash led to 27 deaths were incorrect. Weather conditions were reportedly extreme during the time of the incident.
There were 32 passengers and seven crew members on board. Besides the 16 people injured, seven others underwent medical treatment.
Three Mi-8 helicopters were deployed to the crash site.
