Several civilians were injured in Kabul on Wednesday in a series of explosions carried out by a group of Afghan Taliban militants, reported TOLO news. A police stations, an army recruitment centre and an intelligence services facility were targeted by the militants.

At least one person was killed and 35 were injured in the attack on the police headquarters, reported TOLO news. A suicide car bomb detonated next to the police station, near a military training centre. A gun battle ensued between the security forces and an unknown number of attackers in western Kabul, reported Reuters. Two gunmen with suicide vests had entered the police headquarters, Al Jazeera reported. The authorities have yet to confirm the total number of casualties.

Last month, at least 20 people were killed in a suicide bomb attack outside the Supreme Court in Kabul. The Islamic State had claimed responsibility for that attack.
